Wanchainoi's Path to Nadaka: A Victory Over Petnamkhong Could Earn Him a Shot at the Champion

Wanchainoi Pongsuphan PK is set to headline the strawweight Muay Thai main event against Petnamkhong Sor Maneekhot at The Inner Circle 26. This event will be streamed live in Asia this Friday, August 14th, from Bangkok's Lumpinee Stadium.

A victory in this fight would extend Wanchainoi's winning streak to four and bring him closer to a US$100,000 main roster contract. However, Wanchainoi has emphasized that this bout holds significance beyond the financial reward.

“I want to make a statement to the boss. If I win impressively, I hope to get a shot at proving myself on the global stage,” he expressed.

Wanchainoi Eyes Nadaka After Petnamkhong Challenge

Wanchainoi's ultimate goal is to face Nadaka, the reigning ONE Atomweight Muay Thai World Champion, whom he considers one of the best strikers of his generation and his ultimate test. To reach this goal, Wanchainoi must first overcome Petnamkhong's height and reach advantage, a challenge he has been intensely preparing for throughout fight week.

“Stepping into the ring with Nadaka is definitely part of that vision,” Wanchainoi stated.

Wanchainoi's journey to this main event has been unconventional. After completing his military service, he briefly pursued a career as a pop singer before dedicating himself fully to Muay Thai. This background makes his current three-fight winning streak and his prominent main event status feel particularly remarkable to him.

His streak includes a notable first-round knockout of Dokmaipa Santiubon at ONE Friday Fights 160, which ended his opponent's own four-fight winning streak and paved the way for his current headlining opportunity. Defeating Petnamkhong would mark his fourth consecutive win, further strengthening his claim for a future matchup against Nadaka in ONE Championship.
